The Nokia X Android phone has been certified in Thailand ahead of a heavily anticipated MWC 2014 launch.
With a rumoured announcement due within the month, the Nokia Android phone has been certified in Thailand, following certification in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Sources have suggested the codenamed Nokia Normandy Android phone is being prepared for an MWC 2014 reveal.
The fact that the phone is being certified across the world only serves to reinforce these rumours.
However, it could well mean that the device, which is rumoured to have a 4-inch display and a dual-SIM card slot, may not be launched in the UK, but be targeted at developing markets.
The first Nokia Android phone has already been caught in leaked photographs showing a Lumia-esque design and vibrant colour range.
It is tipped to launch as a lower mid-range handset running on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM, making use of Android 4.4 KitKat’s ability to run on smartphone with minimal memory.
Rumour has it that the Nokia X will have a 4-inch 800 x 480p WVGA display and be powered by a 1500mAh battery with 4GB of internal storage.
Of course, there has been no official word from Nokia on the launch of an Android phone, but with the Microsoft mobile takeover imminent, we doubt there will be until the very last minute.
